Light the barbecue with the XCelsius BBQ lighter and set it up for indirect heat at around 180°C. Time to get the barbecue going. Give it plenty of time to stabilise before you carry on.
Pat the chicken dry and remove any string. Rub the BBQ rub generously all over the chicken. Take your time and get everything ready so you don’t have to rummage around when you’re at the barbecue.
Open the beer can and pour or drink some of the beer. Place the chicken firmly on top of the can or use a chicken holder. Keep things relaxed and follow the steps at a leisurely pace – that way, barbecuing stays fun.
Place the chicken securely on the indirect heat section of the barbecue. Close the lid and let the chicken cook gently. Arrange everything neatly and then let the barbecue do its job.
Measure the core temperature at the thickest part of the thigh. The chicken is cooked through at around 72°C. Keep a close eye on the cooking process and carry on calmly following the recipe.
Carefully remove the chicken from the barbecue using the XCelsius BBQ gloves. Leave it to rest for a moment, then slice it. Take your time and get everything ready so you don’t have to rummage around when you’re at the barbecue.
Time to sit down to dinner. Serve up the dish, grab a cold drink to go with it, and enjoy – from all of us at XCelsius.
