This quick start guide will show you how to use the BBQ lighter step by step, the right way. You’ll see what you need to do, what to look out for, and how to get started safely and quickly.
Please read the full instructions for the BBQ lighter. Use this quick start guide as a brief overview alongside the manual. If in doubt, always follow the manual.
Keep this manual for future reference. Do not use the product if any warning or instruction is unclear.
Check the BBQ lighter, plug, cable and nozzle before you start. Do not use the appliance if there is any visible damage, wear or deformation.
Do not attempt to repair or dismantle the appliance yourself. Repairs must be carried out by a qualified technician.
Ensure the surface is flat and stable. Keep flammable materials, children and pets away. Do not use the appliance in wet environments and do not expose it to rain.
Do not use the BBQ lighter near explosive substances, flammable liquids, dry grass, leaves or paper.
Plug the BBQ lighter into a properly earthed socket. When using it outdoors, only use an approved extension lead that is suitable for outdoor use.
Check that the cable is not damaged and cannot come into contact with the hot part of the lighter.
Use the BBQ lighter for charcoal barbecues, smokers, fire pits or open fires. Hold the nozzle close to the material you want to light, but do not place the nozzle under the charcoal.
Never use the appliance in conjunction with other ignition aids. Do not use alcohol, petrol, petroleum products or similar substances.
Press the button marked with the HOT symbol. Hold the nozzle close to the material you wish to ignite. Within approximately 30 to 60 seconds, glowing embers, flames or sparks may appear.
The nozzle gets very hot. Do not touch the nozzle during use or immediately after use.
Then press the button marked with the COOL symbol. Hold the nozzle about 10 centimetres away from the fire. Use the airflow for another one or two minutes to fan the flames.
Watch out for sparks. Sparks can fly outside the fire zone and cause damage or a fire.
Never leave the BBQ lighter unattended whilst it is plugged in. Never point the device at yourself, others or animals.
Unplug the appliance from the socket when it is not in use.
Unplug the device when you have finished. Place the lighter on a non-flammable surface, pointing the nozzle in a safe direction.
Never allow the cord to come into contact with the hot part of the BBQ lighter.
Allow the nozzle to cool completely to room temperature before storing the BBQ lighter. The nozzle may discolour over time due to the high temperature.
Discolouration of the nozzle is normal and does not affect its performance or lifespan.
Make sure the plug is unplugged and that the appliance has cooled down completely. Clean the housing with a soft, dry brush and, if necessary, with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Never immerse the appliance in water and do not rinse any parts under running water.
If the built-in thermal protection is triggered, the appliance will switch off until the components have cooled down. Allow the appliance to cool for 15 to 20 minutes before using it again.
Do not restart the appliance until it has cooled down sufficiently and the airflow is not obstructed.
