How to use the XCelsius BBQ kamado cover

This quick start guide will show you how to use the BBQ kamado cover step by step, the right way. You’ll see what you need to do, what to look out for, and how to get started safely and quickly.

  1. Please read the user manual

Please read the full Instructions for the BBQ kamado cover. Use this quick start guide as a brief overview alongside the manual. If in doubt, always follow the manual.

Keep this manual for future reference. Do not use the product if any warning or instruction is unclear.

  2. Check that the kamado has cooled down

Only use the cover on a kamado barbecue that has cooled down completely. Check that there is no heat, embers or burning debris left.

Never place the cover over a hot or lit barbecue. This could cause damage and pose a fire hazard.

  3. Check that the kamado is dry

Only put the cover on when the kamado is dry. This will prevent moisture from becoming trapped under the cover during storage or when the kamado is not in use.

Leaving a barbecue under a cover in wet weather can lead to moisture build-up.

  4. Pull the cover over the kamado

Place the cover over the kamado and make sure the barbecue is completely covered. Let the fabric drape neatly over the sides.

The cover protects against the elements, such as rain, dirt, dust and sunlight, during outdoor use and storage.

  5. Make sure the cover fits snugly

Check that the cover fits snugly all round. Pull the fabric taut so that the cover isn’t unnecessarily crooked or too tight.

A well-fitting cover stays in place better and protects the kamado more effectively.

  6. Fasten the straps

Secure the straps at the sides using the plastic buckles. Tighten the straps sufficiently so that the cover stays firmly in place.

Make sure the cover is securely fastened so that it doesn’t come loose or blow away in the wind.

  7. Remove the cover before using the barbecue

Always remove the cover from the kamado before lighting or using the barbecue. Keep the cover away from open flames, sparks and other sources of heat.

Only use the cover when the barbecue is not in use.

  8. Clean the cover with water and a soft cloth

Clean the cover with a soft cloth and cold or lukewarm water. Do not use harsh cleaning products or abrasive materials.

The cover is not suitable for machine washing. Machine washing is not recommended.

  9. Leave the cover to dry completely

Allow the cover to dry completely before using it again or putting it away. Store the cover in a clean, dry, well-ventilated place.

Do not store the cover when it is wet. This will help keep the material in good condition for longer.
